Will it be Pawan's turn to face I-T raids?

Though there is no official statement yet from Jana Sena Party president and power star Pawan Kalyan that he has come out of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance, a national news agency report quoting Pawan as saying so has created ripples in the BJP.

Pawan Kalyan knows that the BJP will any way not join hands with the Jana Sena Party-TDP alliance, but he has not made any comment against the saffron party or the NDA.

Even the TDP leaders have not been making any negative comments on the BJP for being silent on Naidu’s arrest.

Even at his latest public rally at Pedana, he claimed that he enjoyed close relations with Prime Minister Narendra Modi but yet, the police had the audacity to issue notices to him calling for evidence from him about his comments on a possible attack on his rally.

However, the national news agency report has triggered a discussion as to whether the Centre would spare Pawan Kalyan, if he quits the NDA and starts making any critical comments against the BJP.

The reason is that for Pawan, quitting the BJP may not make much difference politically, but for the BJP it is a setback as it has been hoping to win a couple or more assembly seats and one or two Lok Sabha seats using the Kapu factor by fighting the elections in alliance with the Jana Sena Party. 

Analysts say the BJP leadership, which has been friendly with Pawan all these days, may turn hostile. The BJP leaders might start attacking the Jana Sena Party president in harsh language at all public meetings and debates.

At the same time, the Centre may target Pawan in the name of IT raids and ED inquiry, something that can be very embarrassing in the wake of rumours that he has been receiving funds from N Chandrababu Naidu being dubbed a package star’ by his critics.

Moreover, Pawan himself said in public that he takes Rs 2 crore per day for his films and earns not less than Rs 50 crore for each film. This is a good evidence for the central agencies to target him and unearth the black money.

So, the Jana Sena president will have to face new challenges from the BJP, if he really comes out of the NDA.
