I agree its more pressure on H1B's. But nothing in our hands.

I am currently dealing with a friend who is citizen, married with no kids, has a house bought in 2014, 10-15 cr in India with multiple properties, $500k+ USD bank balance, $500kUSD 401k. RSUs worth 200K+. He is dealing with depression and anxiety of getting fired. He created some illusion in his mind that he cannot survive if he is fired.

Companies laying off are not recruiting cause AI in full swing to replace IT jobs. Be careful and look for backups vayyas.
