neneno1 Posted November 12, 2023 Report Posted November 12, 2023 If you are on green card or citizen, the process is very tedious. Otherwise if you are on H1b, chances are better. Chances are even better if u live in India. overall child adoption is a noble idea and it could be a tedious process. Process is tedious as the organizations want to be sure the child is in good hands. Good luck and hope things work out for you smooth if you are planning to Quote

I always want to adopt some one from a country other than India especially war stricken countries so that we will have a mixed family. Overall the process is not simple. My child is 1 year old, if I start the adoption process now may be we will succeed in next 3 years. Quote

Dhed Posted November 12, 2023 Report Posted November 12, 2023 Don’t adopt unless you are sure you are going to love them. I had the idea of adoption before our second one , how ever the stress of second baby I had to take back step. we still have a thought about adopting some one around 1 or 2 years , can’t do new born. You have to deal with ups and downs of baby , they might have health issues that might be difficult to manage I think one of the kerala guy left his adopted daughter outside and she eventually died don’t consider to adopt if you can’t love them as yours 1 Quote

Thanks Only citizens can adopt a baby in US .. if u r a gc or h1 ... and want to adopt a child outside the US .... "the baby should live with family for 2 years outside the country" .... then only the baby becomes eligible to travel with the non immigrant family to the US !!! Quote
