I am going on a trip to Mexico for 1 week during Thanksgiving and everything is booked and planned. But here comes the scary part: two of my colleagues confidently stated that I will not be allowed to re-enter the US. I have an expired H1B visa stamp but a valid i797A that expires in 2026.

Can I re-enter through Automatic Visa Revalidation program? My company’s attorney said there should not be any issues but I’m scared of how sure my colleagues were of themselves even though they have not been through this

Anyone with similar experience?

mastu mandhi vellaru Mx ki and came back to US with just 797 anthe.....make sure u carry all documents and recent paystubs + latest employment verification letter etc...dont worry and u will be fine

I hope u took Mexico tourist visa since u dont have valid US visa in your passport? Automatic Revalidation pgm works only when ur coming back to US....Mexico doesnt consider you 797 or any other crap.....either Mx tourist visa or US visa stamp in passport undali

I hope u took Mexico tourist visa since u dont have valid US visa in your passport? Automatic Revalidation pgm works only when ur coming back to US....Mexico doesnt consider you 797 or any other crap.....either Mx tourist visa or US visa stamp in passport undali

Get Mexico visa to enter mexico. They dont recognize 797 approval as a valid doc to enter MX. 

Return lo valid 797 with expiredstamp is totally cool.

aasa dosa appadam...

only works with countries that share land border with US like Mexico and Canada. Most ppl dont even risk this with Canada 

Note: Make sure you have Mexican tourist visa since you don't have unexpired H1B visa to enter Mexico

what is the process to get mexico visa, we have plan to go to cancun in 2024 feb, I'm currently on EAD/AP and having hard time getting visa appointment in dallas
