shaktimaan Posted November 16, 2023 Report Posted November 16, 2023 I live at 6k feet and go to 9k+ regularly and no issues. Thing is you have to get used to the altitude. Don’t do any activities for a day or two after you reach and you should be fine Drink lots of water Quote

TIA. bhayya below are some things you can do 1) Coca candies / coca tea taagu say twice a day. (note ..dont take too many its cocaine which will increase your heart rate) 2) Rest in Cusco for 1 day at least or two if possible. Your body will acclimatize in couple days. 3) Drink lots of water 4) Try to eat less during your stay in cusco ( as body dont need to work on food digestion) so keeping light is the key Note: You could take pills that fight altitude sickness ..akkada ekkada padithey akkada dorkuthayi....I wouldn't recommend as they are some side effects for some ppl also most hotels will have OXY shots (chala cylinders like our spray bottles that you can buy and carry with you in case of emergencies) mostly antha avasaram Radu... P.S. Don't try Indian food (edchi natlundi) Quote

gutlogummadi Posted November 16, 2023 Report Posted November 16, 2023 Hydration and acclimatization are the key( if u r body had issues in the past ). Spend a day in cusco before u head for mountain. They serve cocoa tea (in all hotels) to numb the light headedness/headache. 1 Quote

kattubanisaa Posted November 16, 2023 Report Posted November 16, 2023 Try Diamox, it is widely used in the climbing fraternity to accelerate acclimatization as part of a well-planned ascent. Quote
