Jagadish Chandra Bose, an Indian scientist, conducted pioneering research that suggested plants have a kind of sentience. In the early 1900s, he began experiments on plants to measure their electrical responses, using devices and instruments of his own invention. He observed that plants responded to various stimuli and even experienced an electrical spasm at the end of their life, akin to the death spasms seen in animal muscle tissues

Bose proposed that plants possess structures analogous to the nerves and pulsating cells found in animals, suggesting a form of plant "nervous system" that allowed them to respond to external stimuli

he can't handle opinions that radically depart from the ones he holds, or that expose his hypocrisy..

for example, he's still reeling from being exposed for being wantonly cruel to some animals, while condemning cruelty on other animals.
