Tagging along on this topic, how easy is it to change the name on the title?

loan paid off letter paminchi untaru .. if you have it take it to local DMV and they will issue a title. If not, call your bank with whom you paid off the loan and they will issue a new letter

Change name to a different person? if you are changing to a different person, it is considered as a sale so basically you need to pay sales tax + registration + title fee etc .. if the change is to descendant due to death of primary, then certain tax  + fee can be skipped. check you local DMVs website

check if your state participate in online like now a days after you pay off your loan bank will release lien holder and we just need to take pay off letter to local dmv/bmv and they will issue you the title

I faced same situation. Paid off loan 7 yrs before. Called DMV, they asked me to get a no-objection or loan paid letter from bank. 

After a while enduko intlo vetika, I found the title in my documents. I never remembered that I received it long back and forgot. So check your documents first. Else get a letter from bank.
