It depends on what kind of airpods fit you best. Everyone ears are different. For me, Bose fits better than Apple airpods. They both sound great. You need a snug fit for workouts. Or after you buy, a lot of people use foam tips for a snug fit. or try the different tips that comes by default that fits them. 

Best is over the ear headphones. Bose and Sony sound great. I have all the above.
