Vasthu is beyond just light and air. Some Gods rule particular directions. Why sun only rises in the east? Why most Hindu temples have diety idol facing the east? Do you think this a coincidence…
 

Ilaaa chala untayi. South is abode for Yama dharma Raju. It’s considered inauspicious in general. People who live in south tend to face issues with law. They make more enemies. They get dragged into unnecessary difficulties. That’s a very well established paradigm.
