9 Actors Who Need To Portray These Legendary Cricketers In Biopics

After the success of Mary Kom and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, there are several other films based on sportspersons which are in the pipeline. We pick some names that will definitely hit sixes and fours at the box-office, if they get a chance to portray the roles of these cricket legends in their biopics...
1. Mohammad Azharuddin - Emraan Hashmi

Emraan Hashmi would be portraying the character of cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin in Tony Dsouza's biopic 'Azhar'. The first look of the film was revealed on Thursday, May 21, and the movie is slated to release in May 2016. Emraan who is currently working on the role, has worked hard to adapt the body language of the player. And, what we see in the first look, he surely has achieved that!

2. Sachin Tendulkar - Rajat Barmecha

The Master Blaster might be starring in his own biopic. TOI reports that, James Erskine, a London-based award-winning writer is directing Sachin in his own biopic. The work on the film started a year ago, after Sachin  gave a thumbs up to the idea. However, if Sachin decides to let an actor take up his role then, we have a fresh face in mind. Rajat Barmecha, best known for Vikramaditya Motwane’s ‘Udaan’ is a fine actor who would be able to pull off the role of the legend with simplicity and fine acting. Don't you agree?

3. Rahul Dravid - R. Madhavan

Fondly called ‘The Wall’, Rahul Dravid’s cricket career will make for an inspiring biopic. With his dimpled smile and boyish charm, R.Madhavan would be a proper fit for the role.

4. Virat Kohli - Fawad Khan

It would be a delight to watch hottie Fawad Khan portray the role of the bad boy of Indian cricket, Virat Kohli. They look very similar, and the girls would go crazy watching Fawad playing cricket too!

5. Yuvraj Singh - Ranbir Kapoor

There should and will be a movie on Yuvi’s inspirational journey. The cricketer's battle with cancer, and his comeback is likely to motivate many. There are reports that Abhishek Bachchan is keen on taking up Yuvi’s role. However we think Ranbir Kapoor would do a better job.

6. Sourav Ganguly - Parambrata Chatterjee

Sourav Dada’s cricket career can be made into a complete masala film. From controversies to his alleged affair with actor-turned-politician Nagma, his biopic would be an interesting watch. Bengali actor, Parambrata Chatterjee (who was last seen in Kahaani with Vidya Balan) would do a fine job as the aggressive Royal Bengal Tiger of Indian cricket.

7. Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi - Saif Ali Khan

Tiger Pataudi is considered as the first superstar of Indian cricket. And nobody else can do a better job portraying him than his son, Saif Ali Khan.

8. Mahendra Singh Dhoni - Sushant Singh Rajput

The much-awaited biopic on India's cricket captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, will hit screens this year. Director Neeraj Pandey picked Sushant Singh Rajput as the protagonist and we truly approve because Sushant did an exceptional job in 'Kai Po Che' as a passionate cricket coach.

9. Kapil Dev - Randeep Hooda

We have no doubts about Randeep Hooda’s acting skills. He is the most underrated actor from the current lot. If reports are to be believed, then Randeep might get to play legendary player Kapil Dev on the big screen.
