the cheapest and conveniently used heaters in India are halogen rod or coil based, portable heater, like bajaj or vijay brand room heater.

While these heaters provide temporary relief from severe cold, they consume a lot of power, electricity bills runs into few thousands if there is one unit difference in slabs.

And the most worrying thing is these heaters dry up the ambient air, indoor humidity completely falls, air become too dry and people who are already sick with respiratory symptoms or sensitive/allergic nasal passages faces problems with dry air. So additionally you'll have to use humidifier, and if you put municipal water in the humidifier then its another story @3$%, room heaters also causes drastic dry skin when the heater is projected on to someone at 1 meter to 2 meters distance for even few minute, dry skin is another issue for most of the diseases and flu like symptoms. And for elderly people, definitely big NO for room  heaters.

So, better +_(

https://www.amazon.in/Orpat-OEH-1220-2000-Watt-Heater-White/dp/B00B7GHQQW/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=room+heater+for+home&qid=1642620960&sprefix=room+heat%2Caps%2C322&sr=8-3

I got 4 of these for different family members over the last 4 years. They are used during winter and work well. The only downside is they work only from the AC ports. You need to buy an extension cord. Goldmedal extension cord. Something like below.

https://www.amazon.in/Goldmedal-Curve-205132-Plastic-Extension/dp/B011IC89MY/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1TUOSVH4GPWFN&keywords=goldmedal%2Bextension%2Bboards%2B2000%2Bwatt&qid=1642621145&sprefix=goldmedal%2Bextension%2Bboards%2B2000%2Bwat%2Caps%2C385&sr=8-1&th=1

If there is no AC port in home, you would need some electrical work to be done.
