Khangress was forced to create a separate state. They wanted to save their face in TG.
 

Hypothetically speaking if YSR was alive for another 5-10 years, we wouldn’t have witnessed two seperate Telugu states for Telugu people.

...i had a TG colleague in 2007..he is least bother about telagana initially..and used to say KCR is using telangan people...etc

after that we both joined different companies...i called him oneday ..he said he is in middle of millian march and participating...(he picked up the movement slowley)

by the time around 2011 everyone took TG sentiment seriously..aa time lo YSR vunna inthe vundedemo....

Khangress removed telangana part in 2009 manifesto. Harish rao and Vijayashanti were almost ready to switch parties in 2009. KCR was hiding in farmhouse after the infamous performance in 2009 elections. I don’t know how KCR could have bounced from that point if YSR was alive.

After YSR demise, there was a leadership vaccum. CBN was rejected twice, KCR was not so popular either but Telangana started becoming a center point. 2004 la TRS in Allinace with congress won good number of seats, that sentiment was always there. Had YSR was alive, Telangana would have been a distant dream, the leadership was strong and YSR was popular in Telangana too.

Actually YSR was more popular in TG than CBN. CBN was popular in urban areas but not rural. In 2004 Cong contested in around 50 seats in TG, TRS contested in the rest
