TCS, Patni were the first so called IT companies in India and Pune was the silicon valley of the initial years before Bengaluru came into the picture.

Almost all Indian domestic IT entrepreneurs had some sort of connection with TCS and Patni including Infosys founders.

Tata also mints money, but ownership is with a trust and not with individuals .. ade difference

CMC was a psu, it was created to take over existing operations and cater to PSU’s needs. That was the era of nationalization….indeed it did create and offered solutions for mostly governments and PSU’s but it was TCS and Patni which pioneered the software services in the 70’s. IBM was the first company before TCS but it wasn’t Indian, IBM ni chusi TCs start ayindi ani chepochu…

Just like IDPL played as a mentor for Pharma entrepreneurs, initial years la above companies played a key role in ITES esp offshoring concept.

Also satyam infoway, sify was first of it's kind e-commerce, broad band service provider.. thanks to sify as it revolutionized internet cafes in India. 

 

Also it paved way to outsourcing  data centers in India..  satyam co.outers was innovative in its own way..fifa sponsor.. I am baffled how a mismanagement can bring down empure the size of satyam..very bad..politics ruined it.
