Sandeep's formula is making macho alpha male movies while RGV's formula was making gangster movies. We all know how RGV fell out of favor after a few movies with the same formula. Rangeela came in 1995 - 3 years before his first gangster film Satya. RGV has a vastly diverse filmography and there is no other director in the Indian cinema that has touched as many genres as RGV did. Shiva - Crime Action Kshana Kshanam - heist Antham - Neo noir Raat - horror Gaayam - Political thriller Money - Comedy thriller Govinda Govinda - Supernatural heist with comedy Rangeela - Romantic Comedy Ananaganaga oka roju - Road/romantic comedy Daud - Adventure/comedy W/o V Varaprasad - Romantic Thriller Prema katha - Romance Drama This is just a sample... And the best part is many of his experiments were hits in his first years. There is a lot that Sandeep has to achieve before their names can be taken in the same breath. Quote
