for two,three things he did 

he stood strong when left parties want to withdraw support to UPA govt at the time of Indo-US nuclear deal , he is ready to resign if party doesnt support him for nuclear deal but thanks to amar singh and samajwadi party , deal went through , amar brought some other party MPs and made them support to nuclear deal in loksabha  and convinced mulayam singh yadav to have a meeting with abdul kalam to know what is the right thing to do, thus how SP voted for nuclear bill in loksabha

sonia and congi ecosystem never had interest in it 

second time he showed some maturity was when nira radia tapes came out how journalist and lobbyists discussed who should be ministers etc etc , 2G , coal scam , common wealth scam  etc etc 

he wants to resign taking responsibility ,even opposition havent said manmohan singh is corrupt ,but only said  ministers and gandhi family are corrupt , but sonia gandhi dont want him to resign , coz she belives it was not right time for rahul to take over ...

and economic reforms he helped PVNR in implementation as finance minister , that was big achievement

hope will get his due  in modi 3.0 @Spartan

BJP opposed it mainly on inspections clause…initially they supported but later on after the final draft, they were against the inspections which BJP felt may restrict the sovereignty….
