food doesnt grow in Maldives....they import from neighboring countries. The closest is India....SL is not in that situation + Gulf lo kuda same prob where there is no land to grow veggies/fruits.

China can supply in shipments kani distance wise it will add lot of expense to Maldives. May be initially China can give discounts kani in return they will demand other things....so economically India is the only option for Maldives...adi marchipovadhu

India's greatest asset is human capital, India is not driven by manufacturing but consumption.

whatever we learn to manufacture will not be meant for exports but for also internal consumption, this in itself is much bigger asset than China
