With 55L salary you can only have breakfast daily, you can’t afford lunch and dinner, pasthul undalsi ravochu

wirh this salary you can only send your kids to govt schools, with patched clothing bought from road side used/thrift shopping clothes.

jokes apart, you can live like a king with that kind of salary in India

lot of companies offer free/subsidized meals,transportation etc, aa benefits tho patu, maids and staying free from visa issues is worth it with this salary

This is comparable to a 240-300k salary here in terms of PPP

55L Per annum before tax generally translated to 3.2L Per month in hand after taxes. But, if 55L is the total CTC, then you might end up getting somewhere between 2 to 2.5L in hand. Home rentals would be in the range of 30K to 60K depending on where you would like to live. If you have school going kids, keep aside 3L/Kid per year. That would leave you with about 1 - 1.5 L per month in hand for the rest. 50K would be living expenses like groceries, electricity and weekend outings. 

If this is what keeps you happy then 55L might be a good deal. If you are joining as a manager within the same org and if you have a chance to move back as a manager, EB1 might be an added bonus.

i was not clear while writing. India too expensive anipinchindi in my recent trip… that too in andhra. So, Noida ante inka baga expensive emo kada ani adiga anna..

What is your level of experience? I moved back to India recently. I could answer specific questions if you have. Noida is expensive.

In noida it is impossible to buy a apartment..rent kooda 1 lakh vuntudhi

Crime kooda ekkuva but you don't step out of car..traffic horrible..rainy season roads fully flood avuthai

Noida is pretty expensive and safety depends on where you live and who you live with. From what I have heard about Noida, it's a little too Jatt for people from Southern India. If you are a non confrontational person and loves his peace, it might not be the place for you. Work Culture varies on the place. If you have worked in the US for a majority of those 12 years, it will take some effort to recalibrate yourself to India. 

The major change you need to adjust for is how short your day would seem.
