JAMMU: There has been no infiltration from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir so far this year due to the heightened vigil of troops along the border with Pakistan , an army officer said Saturday.

General Officer Commanding of 16 Corps, Lt. Gen. J.P. Nehra said that there were approximately 400 terrorists waiting across the LoC to sneak into India , but they have not been able to succeed so far.

"It is because our troops are vigilant on the LoC, they are equipped with sophisticated equipments that enables them to see clearly even during the bad weather or during night," Nehra told reporters on the sidelines of a function here.

He said the army has set up a "multi-tier anti-infiltration grid along the LoC, which also has served as a crucial factor in checking infiltration".

Although there has been no activity from across the border after the July 13 Mumbai blasts, Nehra said, "if they do so, they will get a befitting answer".

The officer added that as per the army's information, there are 42 terrorist training camps across the LoC.
