Cbn Exhorts Youth To Join Politics To Rid Corruption

Visakhapatnam, Feb 8: TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu today called upon the youth to take over the reins of political and social changes and guide the polity of the country in the right direction aimed at ending corruption in public life.

The former chief minister said that “corrupt” Congress had destroyed the prestige of the country. Charging that the Prime Minister had become a rubber stamp of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, the TDP president said that country's future was like a flying kite in the hands of unscrupulous elements.

Addressing the “Yuva Tarangalu” convention of youth at the Sharada Gardens in Visakhapatnam, the TDP president reiterated that nearly 100 Congress MLAs, eight ministers and several MPs were stake holders of the liquor syndicates that were looting the State.

The program aimed at attracting the youth into the party is focused on youth of all four districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and East Godavari comprising of 50 Assembly segments. All the thoroughfares and road junctions were decked up in yellow hoardings and banners and nearly 10,000 youth delegates participated in the event.

Naidu said that it was rather shocking that ACB raids were not underway at Vizianagaram district where PCC chief-cum-Transport minister Botsa Satyanarayana was the leader of a liquor syndicate with 37 liquor outlets. He also demanded dismissal of Excise Minister Mopidevi Venkataramana Rao and disclose the names of all involved in the liquor syndicate causing huge losses to the State exchequer. Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy had averted ACB raids in Vizianagaram district as he was scared of being toppled by the dissident leaders, he said.
