Story: A 25 year-old orphan finds himself in the midst of a simmering faction feud that goes back seventy years. He tries to run away only to discover that there is destiny at work.

Movie Review: Mainstream Tollywood action flicks are a manifestation of male love. Gangs of hooting, cantankerous men swarm the theaters to watch their favourite stars do things they are expected to do on screen. In NTR Jr's case the list of must-haves would include a barrage of tacky one-liners delivered at decibel levels that challenge the boundaries of the human hearing range, a flashback and SUV's flying all over the place along with body parts of baddies in gravity-defying action sequences.

Add two ravishing leading ladies and a special item number featuring four women. Clearly director Boyapati Srinu thought of leaving nothing to chance and so has included plenty for the fanatics to hoot about. If you don't happen to be one of them, you might just feel very out of place, but then who cares?

The movie is primarily a revenge drama bordering on the hyperbolic. Two royal families, holding between them the reigns of innumerable villages, are locked in a rivalry that goes back seventy years. Vijay ( NTR Jr), a 25-year-old orphan with a heart of gold, finds himself in the midst of this turf war and, as is mandatory, he's on the side of the good people.

But as it turns out, there is more to it than meets the eye, as is revealed in intermittent flashbacks with the plot twisting and turning throughout the course of the film. It must be mentioned here that Vijay's love interest is Sathya (Trisha), heir to a fortune of Rs 6,000 crore. Then there is Neelaveni (Karthika), a cousin who has the hots for the protagonist.

The movie builds up well in the first half, establishing characters and little subplots. But, in the second half, the action episodes and background score go into overdrive, assaulting your eardrums into submission. You sense a Simha hangover in the way the film plays out but for the only much more gorier direction the portrayal takes as it holds up a brand of factionalism which would have surely made quite a few stomachs turn.

As far as performances go, NTR and Nassar stand out. NTR is all fire and brimstone and brings the characteristic energy to his performance. Be it comedy, dancing, dialogue delivery, stunts... he has done all with intensity.Trisha and Karthika play their roles of eye-candy to perfection. Trisha, it must be said, seems stuck with the wrong stylists and her oomph factor hardly seems to work.

The music is peppy and has enough verve in it to keep the galleries interested. The humour, however, is a little too gloves-off and might just make some of the audience squirm in its seats although the whistling masses seemed to lap up the not-so-thoughtful double entendres.

The cinematography and editing are sharp and in tune with the theme of the flick. If you are a fan, you would probably be looking at the bright side.
