Intel Corporation In Talks With Indian Auto Makers To Unveil In-Vehicl

HYDERABAD: Chip maker Intel Corporation is holdings talks with Indian car manufacturers to launch a new 'in-vehicle infotainment' (IVI) system in passenger cars.

IVI will have dual display system having two screens on the dashboard; for driver and the passengers, as announced by B Suryanarayanan, Director, Sales (South), Intel South Asia.

Suryanarayanan said, “I cannot tell when the system will be available in India. We are talking to various automobile companies.”

The car driver will have the access to the screen for navigational or driving information and the passengers can download movies, songs, etc separately.

A step towards it, Intel had already announced its association with Kia Motors Corporation's K9 luxury sedan to introduce IVI.

Moreover, Intel is presently working on Atom chip which would consume less power and space for Automatic Teller Machines.
