So, what and at which step we have to act to make sure that we get old priority date?

dotnetrockz
An I-140 once approved....allocates a Visa Number and allows you to use that PD even though u switch employers...How do we do this? based on the infor i know u need to have the reciept number or notice which shud be included in ur new i-140 while filing... what steps?...you can get a copy of approved I-140 using FOIA..google more for this.... Yes an employer can withdraw a petition(i-140) if you are no longer with him but still u wud be able to use that...only if uscis finds a fault in ur i-140 and revokes ...u willnot be able to there are some common myths like u need to stay with the current employer for 180 days after apporval......i dont know how far this is true
