ARYA Posted May 22, 2014 Report Posted May 22, 2014 CII wish-list for Naidu ‘We are committed to working with State in promoting trade and investment’ The CII and Vizag Development Council have decided to list areas in Visakhapatnam that have the potential to become international tourist spots and urge TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu to include it in the agenda of the residuary State of Andhra Pradesh. Visakhapatnam could be developed as one of the favourite tourist destinations in the country, VDC convener and CII member O. Naresh Kumar said on Wednesday. He sought constitution of Visakhapatnam Tourism Board to implement the agenda. He said perspectives and suggestions prepared by the CII-AP to develop Visakhapatnam in the tourism field should be considered with topmost priority. The wish list includes setting up of science museum, planetarium and observatory, golf courses, zoo promotion, aquariums and underwater rides, beach tourism, theme parks, a circuit connecting pilgrim centres and Buddhist tourist spots. Mr. Naresh Kumar said Erramatti Dibbalu and Borra Caves should be protected and air-conditioned see-through train be introduced to Araku valley. A Palace on Wheels train to connect the important tourist spots of AP may be introduced. He said CII had suggested setting up of Visakhapatnam Tourism Board, improving air connectivity, development of world-class infrastructure at the Visakhapatnam International Airport, and commissioning of Vizag-Bhimili beach circuit project. He said the CII was committed to working with the government in promoting trade and investment in AP. Tourism sector offered huge opportunities for the economic development of this region.
