08/29/2014: White House Confirms No Impact of Government Shut-Down Threat on President's Plan for Immigration Executive Actions

  • Despite a devastating nagative of impact of GOP's last action of government shut-down on Obama Healthcare issue, conservative GOP members appear to increasingly raise this issue. Will this stop the Obama's planned release of the immigration executive actions? White House says NOPE! The Press Secretary said No"because the President is determined to take the kind of common-sense steps that are required to address the worst problems of our broken immigration system. Nothing the President does is a replacement for the kind of robust solution that passed with bipartisan support through the United States Senate, but the President is determined to act where House Republicans won’t. And there is strong support for that all across the country -- from the business community, the labor community, law enforcement, even senior members of the faith community, some of whom -- many of whom, I’m sure, didn’t vote for Democrats in recent elections but are supportive of trying to put in place policies that will address some of the worst inequities of our broken immigration system." President himself also confirmed this in his Press Conference yesterday.
  • It thus appears that it may not take too long after he returns from the overseas diplomatic trips next week. Since the Congress is scheduled to the session around that time, we are likely to hear a lot of noises all over in the nation's capital by the time the immigration executive actions are released by the President.
