Namitha joins AIADMK

Actress Namitha, who for many years had enthralled audiences in Tamil and Telugu cinema has taken a plunge into politics and officially joined AIADMK on Saturday.

A day ago, it has been reported that Namitha had written to AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa expressing her wish to join the party. The actress was formally introduced at Jayalalithaa’s rally in Trichy.

Over the years, AIADMK has seen many stars joining the party and campaigning actively for it.

Though it is unclear what role Namitha will play in the party, she could provide a big boost for AIADMK’s campaign.

Namitha who started her career in the Telugu film industry later moved on to Tamil and was seen in blockbuster like Ajith’s Billa and Azhagiya Tamil Magan

However, she started disappearing from the movie screens after 2011, as her offers dwindled.
