When a honest person like Srikanth Addala is making a film with Mahesh Babu after Seethamma Vaakitlo Siri Malle Chettu, we certainly expect another such film that will remain very special and close to our heart. Srikanth Addala always comes up with interesting and realistic stories that are rich on human values and family emotions. Be it Kotha Bangaru Lokam, SVSC or Mukunda there is a good plot line that makes us think about us, our people and our society. With a title like Brahmotsavam and huge pre release hype, people expected that Srikanth Addala to meet us with another honest story which again make us lost in our thoughts about life. But unexpectedly and unfortunately the director disappointed us in all the best ways possible by making a film that is dull on every single point.

 

There is no proper content in the film. When there are too many talented and popular artists in the film. the makers should make sure that each of them were given equal importance and most importantly everyone should be given scope to perform but all of them are wasted here. The audiences understands that the film is going to torture after the first fifteen minutes of the film. There are too many characters in the film and the boredom begins in the beginning watching at the introduction of characters. The director never reveals what exactly he is going to tell to the audiences. Even in the interval and pre interval scenes, it is all about the performance of Rao Ramesh that gives a sigh of relief. It is in the second half that the director tries to convey a bit of the story he assumed in the film and it goes incomplete.

Pavani Gangireddy plays Mahesh Babu sister in the film. She lives in London and she dont even turn up after her father’s death. There is no proper ending for her character. The character of Kajal and Samantha were designed well but the boring love scenes are real hell. The scenes between Mahesh and Kajal never impresses. The first half is dragged a lot and there is no meaning for it. There is no point in characters coming and going. You feel like walking out of Mahesh babu film for the first time. Unlike other films, Mahesh has nothing to do in the film to carry it on his shoulders. A complete script judgement failure.

Mahesh should think about the way he is selecting scripts. He is taking things for granted after the success of Srimanthudu. It is time for the actor now analyse his mistakes. There are too many songs and you feel like why the hell is this happening to you. The second half is a little better than the first half but even then the clarity on why Mahesh is going to meet his relatives is missing in the film. The film looked more artificial which never happened in Addala Srikanth films. The plus points of the film are Mahesh Babu and Rao Ramesh. Especially, it is a feast watching them in both the scenes.

Rao Ramesh character is a major asset for the film. His performance in the film is top notch. Addala Srikanth failed in using the potential of Mahesh Babu but created another interesting role for Rao ramesh., If there is no Rao Ramesh in the film, it is complete waste to watch the film. Rao Ramesh literally saved the film from walking out of the theatre. The cinematography by Rathnavelu is fantastic. The art work of Thotatharani is great. The music of Mickey J Meyer is average. BGM by Gopi Sunder is a failure. The editing is poor. The run time is long. The production values are grand. And there is no content in the film. This is never expected from Mahesh babu and the film remains as a big disaster in the past few years.

On a simple and very clear note, the film Brahmotsavam is a content less film framed with characters. Such films need strong characters and strong performances. But the concentration in casting many actors is not shown in creating strong characters and writing a good story. There is no story and so the screenplay is dragged.. dragged.. dragged. The dialogues are artificial for the first time in Srikanth Addala films. Except Pre Interval, Interval and Climax episodes, the film is a complete waste for your money. Mahesh was not properly used and he should take the blame for accepting the film and turning it into a flop.

All hopes on Mahesh’s next film with AR Muragadoss.
