SENIOR DEVOPS ENGINEER

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of current Linux Administration OR DevOps engineering experience in a production environment

  • 2+ years of current / recent experience managing a cloud environment (Exp with Azure, AWS, Rackspace, Linode, etc)

  • Scripting experience with any of the following:  Bash, Ruby, Python, Perl, PhP

  • LAMP Stack experience

  • Experience building and deploying Docker Containers

  • Identity Management experience (Open LDAP, FreeIPA, Active Directory6, etc)

  • DNS Management experience

  • Experience with Systems Hardening

  • Network Troubleshooting experience

  • Exceptional Communication skills  (Able to communicate complex technical ideas)

  • Familiarity with IT best Practices

  • Experience with automation tools

  • Experience with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS)

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING IN THIS ROLE
You will be joining our world class DevOps team as a Sr. DevOps Engineer and bringing you strong background in Linux Administration, networking and Devops to the table to help us develop and manage our award winning portfolio of encrypted collaboration and communications technologies.   In this roles you will be working with cross functional teams building automation into every layer and level of our operations stack.    You will be responsible for provision systems, configuration management (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, etc), trouble shooting systgems errors, performing capacity planning, ensuring high availability within our infrastructure. You'll be  also supporting local and cloud infrastructures across various architectures and platforms including VMWare, KVM, and Docker.  You'll be responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting performance bottlenecks, ensuring high availability

In this role you'll also leverage your prior experience to identify and assess new technologies that will improve our performance, functionality, reliability and effectiveness of our systems.  You'll be responsible for developing and maintaining installation and configuration procedures and maintaining security of our systems in accordance to our security policies and procedures.   Along these lines you'll be responsible for performing regular security monitoring, identifying potential intrusions, security audits, be involved in penetration testing,  and ensure system and application patches are effectively deployed and current.  You'll be performing consistent security monitoring to verify integrity and availability of hardware and operating systems. 

You will provide support  during software deployments and operational incidents, and work closely with clients during system design, implementation, and make recommendations and guide them with best practices. 

In this role you will be reporting directly to the VP of Engineering and will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for Systems, Software Deployment and Systems & Software Management.
