Pawan wants alliance with AAP party.....

Hyderabad: In a significant announcement that may change political equations in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Tollywood hero and Jana Sena Party founder Pawan Kalyan has hinted at alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party.

"I will not mind having alliance with AAP and any other likeminded party", he said in an interview at Harvard University in America. Pawan has been touring in US and has addressed Indian students at the Harvard. His party men released the video tape to the media here.

However, an AAP leader in Telangana said, "AAP normally does not entertain alliances". The Arvind Kejriwal-led party hass been trying to set its feet in sourthern states.

The Left parties had already consulted him for alliance. The CPI said it was keen on working with Pawan on public issues as the ideologies match.

Pawan launched JSP just before the 2014 elections and supported the NDA partners - BJP and Telugu Desam Party - in the two Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He was considered the blue eyed boy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who always made it a point to have Pawan beside him in public meetings in the two states.

After elections too, Modi gave special treatment to Pawan by inviting him to the NDA partners meeting and introduced him to all the allies. From some time during 2015, there were rumours among the political circles that the BJP was trying to invite Pawan to join the party and take crucial responsibilities in the Telugu states.

However, Pawan started distancing himself from the BJP. Over the last six to seven months, Pawan tried his best to widen the gap with the BJP, by directly attacking it from every public platform. He advised the BJP to limit its cow worship to its cadres.

On the other hand, for the 2019 Assembly elections in AP, he has taken up the special category status (SCS) for residual Pradesh as his slogan. The Centre has gone back on the special category status and even AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu compromised on it, on a promise by the Centre that every benefit available under SCS would be extended to AP through special assistance measure. Now, this special assistance measure is awaiting a cabinet nod for legal sanctity.

Let's see how the political quotients emerge with time.
