Do parents deserve their children?

Recommended Posts

The biggest question on every parents and prospective parents mind should be "How to teach anything to my kid, and still raise him as a free thinking individual".

But it almost never happens. The only thing that happens is, the parents create a family environment that will punish the kid if he/she tries to break free from the family's irrational hold on him/her.

This sorta groupthink permeates to every institution man will ever try to build. The first institution that is poisoned by this is the family.

I wonder then, why do parents even have their kids? put them through the horrible choice of having to do deal with civilization in all its contradictions and complexities?

There's an extraordinary movie, Captain Fantastic, that deals with in group dynamics of a family, as it relates with the rest of the world.

It still didn't ask the question, at the end, if it is really worth it having kids? But the question automatically follows.

The moral answer is - Never. Don't bring babies into a civilization.

I'm a lapsed trader, uncle to 13 nephews, many of whom have horrible mothers and fathers.

ps. the mothers and fathers are not horrible, per se.. but they became horrible when they chose to have kids. It happens to even good clueless people.

That also raises another question. What happens to kids who are not bound by any irrational thoughts of their families? Did they achieve anything special by having freedom and by not forcing to follow the path that their parents wished?
