react avvatam kantey nuvvu kooda joke lu eyyi. not jokes like dalits  carry other people's sh1t.

If you respect dalits enough, you can come up with jokes that are not offensive or outright mean poking fun at them for their condition.

Jokes and sarcasm kills seriousness of the topic, don't you think so?

Honestly I dont think we have a director  who shows brahmins view perfectly. Mani's style is somewhere close to spoiled Brahmin :P  and I think he is being truthful abt it.

We have had enough of that sh1t man. we need other points of view too.

ofcourse he's truthful about it. but still crap is crap.

He still can make great movies, if he gets out of his brahmin circle. All his assistants are reservation candidates (you know recommendation batch within his close circle). No wonder his movies suck.

we are not academics to discuss anything seriously.

compared to what people call dalits here, my jokes on brahmins/uppercaste is close to nothing. In fact, I feel I have great room to up my ante and still not get even.

brahmins like you should challenge them. Instead you are busy challenging me.

I actually think in reverse.. multiple POV can coexist

Maniratnam is a genius, surrounded by bullshitters.

but a genius only in style. not in content. I stopped watching his films after Guru. What a load of bullshit that was.

There's a brahmin point of view that is more relatable. K. Balachander was its voice.

K Vishwanath and all, he makes movies that glorify brahminism.

Maniratnam is a brahmin voice, but a sophisticated one. One that doesn't belong in India.

how's that 'reverse'? Its exactly what I said too.

Mainstream cinema was moved away from Brahmins POV in my opinion.. so I would like to pull it and you want to push.

Yeah you are right .. I am biased but if there is a valid argument i will oppose most of anti dalit topics are carried  away by ignorance so no hope.

okay. It has. And it is for the better of society.

I really don't want to know what 3% of the population think (in TN) all the time.

I admit it has led to decline in quality of films. But I'm hoping it'll pick up if others refine their tastes to match up to what brahmins did earlier.

Then, different POVs can coexist.
