Peddayana Posted April 23, 2017 Report Share Posted April 23, 2017 There is something called as a 'Cap Gap' for people whose OPT expires between April and Oct. You will still be in status during this time if you have filed a timely H1 petition and it is still in processing. You will get more info by reading online about this and in forums like Murthy. I'm surprised that your employer has not explained this to you despite filing a H1 for you.Do your own research and be on top of things like these.Pretty serious issues.
