Criticism apart, disney vadu enduku india lo pettaledu inka ? Ipudu ppl are ready to shred thousands of rupees for d sake of enjoymenyt kada ;)

Typically Disney chooses where to build their parks based on a number of factors, the most important being climate and how many potential customers live close by.

In terms of climate, they're looking for a place that's temperate year-'round. This means no miserable freezing winters, no wilting-hot summers. While I don't know India's weather very well, this may be one obvious reason.

And potential customers really comes down to economics. India certainly has enough people that would want to visit a Disney theme park. However, economically, Disney would likely need to charge an amount that would prevent a huge swath of India's population from ever being able to afford it. So the actual number of Indians that are potential customers is probably not as large as you might assume, once you factor in that potential park guests need to be able to afford admission, food, souvenirs, transportation to and from the parks, hotel stays if they are there for more than one night, etc.

Additionally, Disney would want the park to be near a major transportation hub (most likely a major airport) and/or have other transportation options (such as rail) to get more customers to the park. This means they would be thinking much bigger than just India and consider the surrounding countries, and the demographics (and economic situations) of the residents in those countries.

Mumbai: India’s first Disneyland is likely to come up in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, according to sources. Disneyland and Universal Studios are one of the biggest tourism attractions of the world and have chosen Vizag for venturing into the Indian theme parks industry

The project is still in the proposal stage and aims to reposition cyclone hit-Vizag as the country’s tourism capital.

The project is also garnering attention because of the huge investments that would come knocking on Andhra Pradesh’s door, after the go-ahead.

Disneyland would need approximately 2,000 acres of land to build the theme park. However, the state government led by Chandrababu Naidu is yet to finalise the deal.

Interestingly, during his previous tenure as CM, it was Naidu who encouraged foreign investment in the state and opened floodgates for global IT companies, including Microsoft to strengthen their operations in Hyderabad.
