70-year-old Ramaiah Daripalli of Reddipalle village in Khammam district, Telangana state is an inspirational man. Popularly known as ‘Chettla Ramaiah’, he is said to have planted more than one crore saplings in Khammam and other parts of the state, as part of a green campaign for nearly six decades. He has been awarded the Padma Shri for his stupendous efforts.

Ramaiah has been admitted into the Care Hospital in Banjara Hills and is being treated for a medical condition. CBN paid him a visit at the hospital today along with TTDP leaders and wished him speedy recovery. CBN also announced a financial support of Rs. 5 lakhs for Ramaiah in recognition of his selfless service.
