London based architecture firm Foster+Partners presented the detailed designs for the new assembly building, the high court building and the city infrastructure plan of Amaravati—The People’s Capital of Andhra Pradesh, to Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Sri. N. Chandra Babu Naidu, after having worked on inputs provided by APCRDA.

The new AP High Court building is designed in the shape of Buddhist Stupa, while the Assembly design looks like a Kohinoor diamond.

Also Foster + Partners, along with Dr. Sreedhar Cherukuri, Commissioner-APCRDA and representative of architecture firm, gave a presentation on the AP High Court building designs to Sri. Ramesh Ranganathan, acting Chief Justice, AP and Telangana High Court, in Hyderabad on 13th July 2017.

Justice Ranganathan expressed satisfaction over the designs and suggested the teams to visit the High Courts of Madurai and Ahmedabad to study and replicate some of their designs.
