US system i am not aware but in India its must rule to have OTP or Password for Online transactions , for Instore PIN compulsory and now a days only chip based cards being issued.

More over Online purchases ki kuda Password or OTP (One Time Password) protection leda??? 

US lo avi optional...and u use to regularrly so every time small transaction ki sms ante irritating ..where as in india u use it rarely in shopping malls otherwise u have money

em kadhu call discover ..tell them somebody used ur card..they will refund ur money and start a inquiry...if the inquiry proves it was fraud transaction your money will be are safe ..otherwise they will take away the amount sending u a letter.

Nenu aite Swiping machine unte 100 ki kuda CC use chesta even from much before demonetization came in....India lo RBI has made it mandatory for Password/OTP alert SMS on transactions to curb such fraudulant transactions.

yeah swiping machine unte use chesthav but most of the cases cash like raitu bazar alla ichestham...flow lo..akada swipe cards unatayi anuko...but here its optional

Yes sir , you have that option with Discover , go to Manage my account and opt for text/email alerts.

u can enable mobile alerts for all transcations in my case i will get sms if transaction value is greater than 10$

Alerts em cheskodaniki, its annoying.credit cards are risk free why care about fraud.Auto pay set chesi vodiley.Use mint and check transactions in one place once a day
