No Is there any alternative to bullet trains now ? Yes , normal trains which will take double the time. If time is so valuable for people , Do they have alternative now ? Yes , Flights. Again you are comparing 1 lac crores investment for bullet train which saves 3 hours travel time between just 2 cities with country wide reforms which happened in the past. USA doesn't has bullet trains ? Is not developed with out them ? When you can instead use that money for railway projects which are shelved showing lack of funds reason.
