Provisional RBI data shows that cash in circulation stands at a whopping Rs 16.3 lakh crore, which is nearly 91% of the pre-demonetisation days of Rs 17.9 lakh crore. Digital payments seems to have cooled, another demonetisation or cheque-bandi could help the government add 109.64 crore or 1.09 billion transactions to its tall target.
