Interesting when you talk about Bangalore and KA identity. 

If Kannadigas start beating their chest like Andhras do with Telugu, Bangalore would not have been what it is today. Everyone is welcomed and all languages and cultures are encouraged in Bangalore. Go out and see in Mangalore, Hubli, Belgaum...then you will understand what KA pride is, But in Bangalore, The feeling is literally low.    With Andhra's, They think its the greatest language and naturally, everyone will feel the language they speak is the best, but in case of Andhra's, they proudly beat their chest to say Telugu is the best language and every other language comes second, This is the problem. 

Imagine building a world-class capital and do you expect it to survive and discriminate on basis of language? No major city on earth has distinguished this character except Chennai.
