TRS major achievement this year has been getting new zonal system passed into a law. This zonal system is not just about andhra vs telangana; but with in telangana local rights are protected; for example  this law helps a local from backward Adilabad  gets precedence for jobs in Adilabad dist  rather than a student from Hyd or warangal who has a competitive edge.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s efforts to secure the Centre’s approval for the  Telangana state government’s new zonal system has finally paid off with the union home ministry issuing a Gazette Notification on Thursday. And now, the TS government has lined up recruitment exams to fill over 60,000 vacant posts and the Centre's approval will speed up the recruitment process and ensure jobs for locals. The tagline for Telangana statehood agitation was ‘water, funds and jobs’ and by securing 95 per cent quota for locals, Mr Rao wants to send a message that only the TRS has the commitment towards fulfilling the aspirations of Telangana people. In the earlier zonal system, non-locals, especially those who are from Seemandhra region who migrated to Hyderabad for higher studies and became locals of Telangana by virtue of their seven-year stay here, had the opportunity to secure government jobs.

In the new zonal system, only school education from Class I to VII, will be considered, making such candidates ineligible to compete for jobs. Mr Rao has done a thorough exercise to devise the new zonal system since 2015 by conducting a series of meetings with employees associations and officials. Finally, he drafted the new zonal system in May 2018 and got it approved by the cabinet the same month and referred it to the Centre for its approval.

He met PM Modi and union home minister Rajnath Singh thrice since June to expedite the approval process and finally managed to get it done within three months, which is a record of sorts for the TRS government. During his recent visit to Delhi, the CM met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and convinced him to give approval though the Centre objected to giving 95 per cent quota for locals in government jobs and wanted the state government to bring down the quota to 85 per cent.

However, Mr Rao explained to Mr Modi that the Telangana statehood agitation was all about jobs for locals besides water and funds and convinced him to approve the new zonal system as it was.  The PM then cleared the Centre's approval and sent the proposal to the President for his signature.

ఎన్నికల ప్రచారం చివరి దశలో నిర్వహించే సభ అయినందున రెండో తేదీన భారీఎత్తున బహిరంగ సభను నిర్వహించి సత్తా చాటాలని తెరాస భావిస్తోంది. హైదరాబాద్‌లోని అతిపెద్ద మైదానాల్లో ఒకటైన పరేడ్‌ మైదానంలో సభలు నిర్వహించడం తెరాసకు ఆనవాయితీగా వస్తోంది. తెలంగాణ ఉద్యమకాలంలో 20కి పైగా సభలను ఇక్కడే నిర్వహించింది. 2014 ఎన్నికల సమయంలోనూ సభలను నిర్వహించింది. చివరిసారిగా 2016లో హైదరాబాద్‌ మహానగరపాలక సంస్థ ఎన్నికల సమయంలో సభను నిర్వహించింది. డిసెంబరు 3న సభ జరపాలని మొదట్లో తెరాస భావించింది. అదే రోజు హైదరాబాద్‌కు ప్రధానమంత్రి నరేంద్ర మోదీ వస్తుండటం, ఎల్బీ స్టేడియంలో సభ దృష్ట్యా కేంద్ర ఎన్నికల సంఘం, రక్షణ శాఖలు అనుమతివ్వలేదు. దీంతో 2న సభ నిర్వహించేందుకు తెరాస దరఖాస్తు చేసుకోవడంతో అనుమతి మంజూరయ్యింది. సభ ఏర్పాట్లకు సంబంధించి సీఎం కేసీఆర్‌ శుక్రవారం రాత్రి పార్టీ ముఖ్యనేతలతో సమావేశమయ్యారు. సభకు శనివారం ఉదయం నుంచే ఏర్పాట్లు ప్రారంభించాలని ఆదేశించారు. జంట నగరాల నుంచే పెద్దఎత్తున జనసమీకరణ జరపాలని నిర్ణయించారు. సభా నిర్వహణ బాధ్యతల కోసం కమిటీలను ఏర్పాటు చేశారు. పరేడ్‌ మైదానాన్ని మంత్రి కేటీఆర్‌ ఇతర నేతలు శనివారం సందర్శించనున్నారు. సీఎం కేసీఆర్‌ ఆదివారం సాయంత్రం అయిదు గంటలకు సభకు చేరుకుంటారు. అప్పటి నుంచి సభ జరుగుతుంది.
