Everything has an expiry date and CBn’s Expiry date was over in 2004 itself. 

Mulayam,Laloo,Deve Gowda were also powerful leaders at that time but as they grow older, their grip over the party losens. This has happened in almost every party, including TDP when NTR was getting old and ill, cadre and leaders will not listen to their leader anymore. 

Now, TDP is about to face leadership crisis and going along with Congress will further demoralize the cadre. 

This is NOT a good move in the interest of the state but a very good move which would help the survival of the party and stay afloat during the leadership crisis.

I don't know if there's any benefit in a pre poll alliance to anyone, except if Congress comes to power in center,  CBN can claim that he was among the architects.
