If the state has to pay for these flights initially, I am fine with it. 

 

The state is paying for everything like pensions and everything for poor people. This should also be looked as an investment for future 

 

I would buy the ticket even if it is 10,000 rupees or so more than what we pay for other airports as it will save a lot of time and travel to and fro for me.

2002 lo only one flight vochadi to vijayawada. Okka flight kosam airport avasaram annukunnavallu but now it is one of the growing airports.  Every thing will take time.

Do you even know how much the govt is paying?  

There is a difference between scheduled service and chartered service...your indigo Singapore flight is a 180 seater flight contacted service by the state government. Do you know the difference?

Scheduled service is regulated by the DGCA and it has a fixed schedule and all the civil aviation has to happen through DGCA. It gets updated twice a year.

State govt pays about 18.5 crores per six months, that puts the number at 37 crores per year for a meager 360 seats per week service.

Now, calculate the 360 seats per week to a year, that puts the number at approx 19000 seats. 

Now calculate 19,000 seats per year for the cost 37 crores a year which is Rs.19,473 per seat.

The 19,000 seats per year is one way, so even if we calculate the price for a round trip, then the total number of seats is 38,000 per year.

That's an astonishing Rs.9736 per seat one way.

The average round trip fare is about 15000 rupees for a low-cost carrier for southeast Asian destination...

Do you see the numbers? Do you see how much the state govt is paying for the Indigo airlines?
