That is a 4-0 drubbing of Delhi Capitals for Mumbai Indians, as if to reinforce how much better they have been than the second-placed team of the tournament. There was no beating them this season. Title number 5. Odd year, even year, leap year, pandemic year - doesn't matter. This is the best team performance ever in an IPL season. Period. What a team. Everyone has come to the fore at some point or the other. And some more often than others. It was Trent Boult again, leading the rout after Mumbai lost the toss. And with the bat, Rohit Sharma led the charge. A nice touch that Ishan Kishan was also there at the end. What a tournament he has had too. Handshakes and pats on the back for Mumbai's two batsmen out there - even Delhi Capitals know they've been completely, utterly outplayed by a side worthy of this championship.

The larger picture - another IPL season comes to a close. Heaven knows it was a difficult proposition to even pull the tournament off, let alone one of this quality. Closely fought till the end, top quality pitches throughout, and most importantly - one completed with almost 100% safety.
