More fires are burning in sub-Saharan Africa than in Brazil right now

According to August 25 data from NASA's Fire Information for Resource Management System, there are at least 6,902 fires in Angola and 3,395 in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The same data tallied Brazil's fires at around 2,127. Causes of the African fires are not yet known.
