Internet shut down amid ongoing protests against citizenship bill in India (At least 2 dead)

A curfew has been announced and military troops deployed in India's Assam and Tripura states as people took to the streets in response to the bill that would make it easier for non-Muslim refugees from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan to gain citizenship in the country. The parliament passed the bill on Wednesday, and has been challenged in the Supreme Court.

The legislation seeks to make it easier for non-Muslim refugees from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan to gain citizenship in the country. The legislation is applicable to groups who arrived in India on or before December 31, 2014." — Economic Times

Isn't Andhra part of Madras presidency part of British and transferred to Indian Union. How's it conquered?
