hyperbole
lol..google LiDAR vs Tesla AI google LiDAR is a dinasoraus when compared to what tesla is doing..people here have no clue how bad tesla is gonna fck everyone. I can tell you that Tesla is far ahead of any other company by virtue of the massive advantage in training data collection capabilities. 1M cars on the road observing and learning puts them light years ahead of their rivals. google can't do this, tesla is learning on the go. for google you will have to define the road data in a radius and then load map data for the lidar to work unlike tesla it keeps learning using the AI and driving patterns of other users on the go. this is the outcome

Their innovation is a lot, like solar roofs, space x,hyperloop ..etc overhyped ani cheppanu kani technology hyped soon they will have competition the person who architect ed Tesla into that shape is Elon Musk, elon musk ideas are completely different some Chinese auto makers are giving tough competition to Tesla tesla is almost putting the number 1 chinese EV maker NIO - out of business

Thats starting point. infotainment systems are dumb terminals they can't collect driving data

The main difference is Lidar uses laser sensor tech, and Tesla uses cameras. I don't see why Tesla's advantage in this is unique. you perhaps means tons of lidar data will be useless once they have to dump lidar based tech, which is fair enough. but lidar imagesare easier to process, which is precisely why they are preferred. If Musk wants to go the raw image processing route, good for him. but its harder to achieve self driving capabilities with Tesla's route. most self driving systems use both. Tesla sold 500k cars promising fsd with software update.. They are behind in delivering that by more than year bulkiness of Lidar is not the issue. Tesla builds the entire car along with the AI inhouse, including the battery. So they have better integrated car. nothing more than that. That's why google chose the pragmatic lidar path. If image processing capabilities improve to insane levels, google or some other startup can do it too. As a first step of partnership they are selling os to infotainment system.
