What are some harsh truth about Indian marriages?

Indian Marriages

Maximum=Arranged marriages

Few=Love marriages

1.Arranged marriages

Boy (expectations) :

1.Good Cook

2.Traditional+Modern (flexible according to his demands)

3.Good looking (mostly fair)

4.Care Taker of his family and house

5 .No past but “Porn Star” in bed

6. For some =Housewife and For some=Working +Housewife

Boy's family (expectations)

1.Handsome Dowry (In many cases and yes it's still practiced )

2.Submissive to them

3.Who will combine their family and completely forget her own (Well yeah ...some people watch too much SaaS Bahu daily soaps )

4. In some cases (Who will give them boy child) *:now a days it's changing though but it's still exist in rural areas and some urbans

5. Who will change herself completely and sacrifice all her desires.

6. Girl's family should always remain inferior to them(Old mindset in majority of cases still exist)

Girl (expectations) :

1.Rich family (If possible)

2.Own house

3.Nuclear family (If possible....in many cases)

4.Permanent Job

5.Good looking (bonus but not necessary in many cases)

6.Understanding +no addiction

7.Who will help her and give her personal freedom.

Girl's family (expectations) :

1.Boy should be single child (If possible)

2.Boy's family should accept their daughter as their own (as I stated some people watch too much SaaS Bahu daily soap opera)

3.Boy should be taller than girl

4.Boy should not listen to his family at all (Here’s also Old mindset behind it like “grooms family is always a villain (worst people in world) and going to torture bride for sure .”)

One common expectation from both side :same caste (in many cases)

One more thing:expectation of true lifelong selfless love (from complete stranger)

“I am not saying that all this expectations are wrong but some of them are just extremely impractical from both sides .”

2.Love marriages

(No much expectations because both parties are blinded by love or attraction which they misunderstood with love until reality strikes )

  1. In many cases no acceptance from society and families
  2. Caste dispute & ego clashes(Caste is overrated)
  3. Certificate of being characterless from people who has 4,5,6 ....etc kids themselves and who is reason of overpopulation of this country lol(This people are too “SANSKARI” to go and buy contraceptives/ protection .So they breed like rabbits)
  4. Honor killings (**In gruesome cases**)( killing your own kid or their spouse for honor in fake society while this society is not even going to waste 2 drops of tears on your funeral . Such a loser you are)
  5. If it's just attraction then it's faded sooner or later with time.
  6. Again some samples exist who always blaimed “Bollywood or Films”for all affairs in this world and who will taunt you like “ Yeh sab filmo ka natija hai isliye yeh pidhi haath se nikal gayi”(This is all because of Bollywood and films which spoiled this generation. )=Yep everything is happening because of entertainment industry since people stop using their own brain .

List doesn't end's here (If you are unlucky af then some people also has to face mental & physical abuse, narcissistic in laws or spouse, fake charges ,suffocation, depression,cheating ,ignorance, etc)

Lucky ones may get few good things.

Sometimes people marry for old age support but if marriage guaranteed it then why “old age homes” exist?

How many old people actually get good care in their homes in your surrounding?

Lifelong companion?

But one spouse can die before other then what?

Disclaimer: This answer is only based on my personal experience and cases I observed and no one is bound to follow it . Others can have different experience .Those who are saying that not all men/women are same well I am not talking about “All” but only majority from my observation.
