bhaigan Posted March 7, 2020 Author Report Share Posted March 7, 2020 Third Washington state nursing home reports coronavirus infection A resident of a nursing home in Issaquah, Washington tested positive last night for the novel coronavirus, according to Eastside Fire Deputy Chief Rich Burke. The patient has since been transferred from the facility to a local hospital, and three firefighters who responded to the scene have self-quarantined. “We worked closely with the Kirkland Fire Department and learned a lot from what they went through,” Burke said. The Issaquah Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, where the patient was living, posted a message on its website saying it had implemented infection control procedures for staff and residents. First coronavirus case confirmed in Utah SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Utah health officials have confirmed the first known case of COVID-19, known as the coronavirus in Utah. The patient is older than 60 and is a resident of Davis County. Officials want to protect the person's identity and are not releasing further details, including gender, about the patient. A press briefing is planned for 9 p.m. 2News will carry that press conference live on air, and on KUTV.com's watch page. The patient is recovering at home under a county-issued isolation order. The Davis County Health Department is monitoring the patient and plans to monitor the patient's "close contacts." Brian Hatch, director of the Davis County Health Department said: Our first priority will be ensuring the patient’s family members and medical providers are monitored for potential symptoms and tested, if necessary. We will also work closely with the patient to determine if they may have exposed any other members of the community.
