Salary Cut: Maharashtra follows Telangana

Last evening Telangana CM KCR took a decision to cut the salaries of ministers, MLAs, MLCs, IAS, IPS officers and other public representatives in view of lockdown. Now another state is following Telangana and it is Maharashtra.

Maha deputy CM and finance minister Ajit Pawar has issued orders that salaries of all elected representatives, including CM, ministers, MLAs, MLCs, will be cut by 60% for the month of March. Salaries of Grade A and B officers will be deducted by 50% and that of Grade C employees, by 25%. A respite for Grade D employees as the government decided not to deduction their pay.

Mumbai is the financial capital of India and Maharashtra makes most of its revenue from the city. With lockdown from the past ten days, there is no inflow of revenue.
