Barr released a statement on Friday night that said Berman was "stepping down" as the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York. Berman, who is investigating allies of President Donald Trump, said he "has not resigned" and will not resign until a nominee is confirmed by the Senate. He added that his investigations will continue until then.
