Another logic wouldb be their lungs are used to damage and recovery process, so they might have more resistance too.

Is it cuz you hate the smell (I dont like the smell)? But, why hate only smokers? You have similar risks with second hand smoke caused by vehicle exhaust. It seems hypocritical that we forget about vehicle pollution (Which we ourselves do too) and target hate towards smokers.
